An iPhone app
Can you afford it?
Type what you want to buy. Harbor checks it against the balances and bills in the accounts you've connected, then gives you an answer and the numbers it used to get there.
Built for iPhone. Bank access through Plaid is read-only.
What are you thinking of buying?
WHY
How it works
Connect once, then ask.
There is no budget to build and nothing to categorise by hand.
Connect your accounts
Link your bank accounts and credit cards through Plaid. Harbor never receives your bank password, and the access it gets is read-only.
Ask in plain words
Type it the way you'd say it: “I want to buy a $1,200 MacBook.” Harbor pulls the item and the amount out of that.
Get an answer
Harbor weighs the purchase against your balances and what's already committed, and comes back in a few seconds with a verdict and the reasons for it.
The answer
Three possible answers.
Whichever one you get, the figures that produced it come with it.
This fits comfortably in your picture right now.
You can cover it, but it tightens things up.
Holding off looks like the safer call.
What you get
What the subscription includes.
Unlimited affordability checks
Ask as often as you want. There is no monthly quota on questions.
Plain-language reasons
Every answer lists the specific figures behind it, rather than a score you have to interpret.
Balances kept in sync
Transactions and balances refresh in the background, so an answer reflects where you stand today rather than last month.
Your spending, categorised
See where the money went, grouped into essentials, discretionary spending, debt payments, and savings.
A history of past decisions
Every question you've asked and what Harbor answered, kept so you can look back at it.
Sign in with Apple
No password to create. Harbor identifies you through your Apple ID, and you can hide your email address if you'd rather.
Privacy
What Harbor can and can't do with your bank.
Harbor never sees your bank login
You sign in to your bank inside Plaid's own flow. What Harbor receives is a token granting read access, and never your credentials.
It can't move money
The connection is read-only. Harbor can read balances and transactions, and it has no ability to transfer or spend anything.
Disconnecting and deleting
You can unlink a bank whenever you want. Deleting your account revokes every connection and erases the data behind it.
The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Pricing
One subscription.
Billed through the App Store. The price will be announced when Harbor launches.

FAQ
Common questions.
Is this financial advice?
No. Harbor is an informational tool and not a licensed financial adviser. It only knows what is in the accounts you have connected, so it can miss things like a job change or money you hold elsewhere. The decision is still yours to make.
Can Harbor move money or make payments?
No. Bank access is read-only. Harbor can read balances and transactions to answer your question, and that is the extent of what the connection permits.
Which banks are supported?
Harbor connects through Plaid, which supports most US banks, credit unions, and card issuers. If you have linked your bank to another app through Plaid, it should work here too.
What does Harbor actually look at?
Account balances, income, recurring bills, debt, and recent transactions grouped into categories. That picture and the purchase you asked about are what the answer is based on.
Do I have to build a budget first?
No. Harbor works from the accounts you connect, so there is nothing to set up beyond the connection itself.
How do I cancel?
Through your Apple ID subscription settings, like any App Store subscription. Cancelling stops the renewal; you keep access until the period you've paid for ends.
Harbor is in development.
It is built for iPhone and will be listed on the App Store when it's ready.
