Terms of Service
Last updated: [DATE]
These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“Harbor”, “we”, “us”) covering your use of the Harbor iPhone app and this website. By using Harbor you accept them. If you don't, don't use the app.
What Harbor is
Harbor is an informational tool. It looks at the financial data you connect and offers an opinion on whether a purchase fits your situation.
Harbor is not a bank, broker, lender, or licensed financial adviser, and nothing it produces is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Recommendations are generated automatically, including by an AI model, from an incomplete picture: Harbor does not know about accounts you haven't connected, income or costs that haven't happened yet, or anything else going on in your life. It can be wrong. Every spending decision is yours, and you are solely responsible for it.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You may only connect financial accounts that you own or are authorised to access.
Your account
You sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your device and Apple ID secure. Tell us promptly at support@YOURDOMAIN.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
Bank connections
Bank connectivity is provided by Plaid, and your use of it is also governed by Plaid's terms and privacy policy. The connection is read-only: Harbor cannot move money. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of data supplied by your financial institutions or by Plaid. If the underlying data is wrong or stale, the recommendation built on it may be too.
Subscription and billing
- Harbor is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. We cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
- We may change pricing for future periods; changes will not affect a period you've already paid for.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app
- Access the service by automated means, or interfere with its operation or security
- Connect accounts you are not authorised to access, or submit data unlawfully
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the service
Intellectual property
The app, this website, the Harbor name and mark, and everything in them are ours or our licensors'. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own purposes while your subscription is active. Your financial data remains yours.
Availability
We aim to keep Harbor running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may change, and we may suspend or discontinue the service, with notice where practical.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Harbor is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any financial loss arising from a decision you made with reference to Harbor. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the [12] months before the claim arose.
Termination
You may stop using Harbor and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/COUNTRY], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. [ADD DISPUTE RESOLUTION / ARBITRATION TERMS AS YOUR COUNSEL ADVISES.]
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before taking effect, and continued use afterwards means you accept them.
